This is a call out to HD3 members, post in your site blog your review of the newest Star Trek movie, and I'll promote your posts to the home page for everyone to see.

There has been a change in the way we gather Star Trek news. We no longer store the news items on our own sites, but link directly to the news items on the website it originates from. The links date back as long as sixteen weeks. For older news you can visit the archives of the source websites.

As a starting fleet, we need more players and SIMMs. Therefore we are looking for officers that want to join the recruitment office and go out to find players and SIMMs all over the internet. Do you want to promote Acacia Fleet? Then apply for the role of 'recruitment office' in your account settings.

Don't you think a new fleet should have a new slogan? Currently we are using the rather corny 'to boldly go where no fleet has gone before', but we think you can come up with a better slogan than that!

We ask all members of the site to think with us and send in as many slogans as possible. The fleet admiralty will then pick one of the submissions to become our official fleet slogan! Wouldn't it be nice to see your slogan on top of every page on the fleet website? What are you waiting for, submit your suggestion now using the comment form on the bottom of this news item.

A security update to the system broke the Forums. This has been fixed now.

There are currently two ongoing missions on Starbase 49. The first one, 'The Blockade' has been going on for almost two years. We think it might be time to end it sooner than later! (Yes, this IS a call for all Starbase 49 personnel to report to Mission Control!)

The second is a brand new mission to get back together after our hiatus and see what crew we have left. Thanks for joining in!

After almost 10 years of running the Starbase49.com website, it is time to change it's name. The Starbase becomes a Fleet. But we're not abandoning the Starbase of course. The Starbase will stay in existence, but now as a part of a larger whole. I basically transferred the Starbase49.com site over to this domain, and put up a new site on starbase49.com. For all our simming joy, we go over to the Starbase, and for our forum, news and background information, we go over to the fleet site.
