Life Signs Detected on Startrek.com

I get a lot of flack for letting Holodeck3.com go offline for so long, and rightfully so, but I've personally had a lot of flack in my heart for the abandoning of Startrek.com by CBS. Startrek.com has been the premier place for Star Trek information on the web, indeed the only official place for Star Trek information on the web for over a decade, but in late December 2007, it appeared that the site had been abandoned.

No new news has shown up in the News area of the site since December 18th, 2007, which was basically a goodbye message from the staff. The last STARTREK.COM newsletter I had received in my email was many months earlier, on March 27, 2007.

For months after Paramount announced that the Star Trek movie had been moved to May, 2009 instead of December, 2008 the Startrek.com homepage still showed a banner showing the December, 2008 date.

They eventually fixed the date of the Star Trek movie on the banner but the rest of the home page has stayed exactly the same since December 18th, 2007 when that last news article was posted.

But today... there was a glimmer of hope that StarTrek.com may not be as dead as we once feared. I received in my email a Startrek.com Newsletter again! If you haven't received this newsletter yourself, you can find it online here.

Sensors show life signs on startrek.com, live long and prosper! I intend to keep a close watch on the Startrek.com home page for changes once more.
